Have you identified what the critical activities are for your business?

Do you think they include blogging, checking your email and being on Facebook and Myspace? NOPE think again.

The Critical activities are those that WILL DRIVE results. That will move your business forward. For most businesses that means making phone calls, meeting new clients/customers, doing presentations, following up with clients or customers or potential clients. If you don't pick up the phone then that's it. POOF. No business. No growth.

YEAH you need to make new friends.

YEAH you need to network for find those potential clients that you can serve and help.

BUT you must pick up the phone to explain what you have to offer before you can achieve your goals.

Throwing the Ball

It can be frustrating when you've shown someone your company or products and for some reason they just don't get it. Or they don't see what you see. It's also frustrating when people say they want to build a business but they aren't willing to learn how to do it, or actually do the activities necessary to build their business.

Here is how I think of it...

I don't know if you know much about American Football but I think of it like we are the quarterback. Our job is to throw the ball the best way we can. So make sure we explain the business and company, products the best way we know how. Learn how to do it better. It's their job to catch it. We can't help them catch it. All we can do is learn how to throw the ball in a good way to that person. If they can't hold up their hands to help themselves... there is nothing more we can do.
